| About The Cambridgeshire Koi Club |
|
The Cambridgeshire Koi Club has been running under a number of different names since the 1970's and has been holding monthly meetings ever since. The members of the club range widely from people with a new interest in the hobby, to long standing koi lovers, retailers and even the odd BKKS judge! There is a warm, friendly and welcoming nature about the club, and new members are always welcome to come along and share their stories and to glean advice from those with it to offer. Whilst the name of the club gives a good indication as to the locallity of many of our members with most coming from the Peterborough, Wisbech, Huntingdon and Cambridge areas, we also have members travelling from Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Warwickshire to attend the meetings on a monthly basis. Club Activities & Meetings
It is also during these months that we typically arrange to have talks from industry experts on all manner of subjects surrounding koi. Recent talks have seen us entertained by Mark Davis from Cuttlebrook Koi Farm who gave us a very insightful talk on the day to day running of a koi farm right here in the UK as well as a fantastic talk and slide show from two hobbyists about their recent buying to trip to Japan, Bob and Gazza. When the sun finally shows it's head around March / April we typically move our meetings to a more informal approach. This see's the meetings being held at the home of a club member where we can enjoy their pond and garden and spend a relaxing afternoon with friends and family talking koi. The warmer months also see us taking part in section exchange visits, days out to dealers and trips to koi shows around the country. These are great days out and allow us to not only see some fantastic ponds, gardens and koi but they also give us a chance to meet and make friends withother koi hobbyists we may never have otherwise met. If you're interested in joining, then you are welcome to attend a meeting prior to completing your membership registration form, however if you would like to simply register to the club, then please download, complete and return the membership form below to the address within.
