After the success of the 2007 grow and show held by the club, it was decided to run the competition again in 2008.

After discussion with the club members it was decided that the koi to grown on for the 2008 competition would be Shiro Utsuri's, and with Dave Pope's upcoming visit to Japan it was decided that Dave would select the fish required for the competition whilst he was there.

Dave duley did this and selected 13 young Tosai from the Omasako blood line which is well known for producing outstanding whites and very deep blacks. With the fish selected it was now simply a case of getting them back to the UK, luckily for the club we were offered QT space at Richdon Koi and the journey for these young koi started.

The fish were collected from Richdon and moved to the growing on pond of Dave's where they were kept warm and fed until Saturday the 26th of April. At this point they were selected at random by those members that had choosen to take part this year and taken home to be grown on.

The results of this growing on will be seen later in the year when all fish will be bowled and photographed.
