| Success At The Winter Show |
|
On the 19th and 20th of February, the East Midlands Koi Club held it's second winter show in Burton, 4 members of the Cambridgeshire Koi Club exhibited their fish to good aclaim. When the East Midlands Koi Club were advised just 6 weeks before their show that their venue had been sold and could thus no longer be used for the event they were devastated, many hours, days and months of hard work had been wasted! But did they throw the towel in and resign themselves to the fact the show wouldn't go on, not a chance, they did what we all knew they would, they dug their heels in, found a new venue, called on their friends and fellow hobbyists for any help available and put on a show as promised! But this wasn't to be just any show and this wasn't to be a show that was thrown together, what they put on was without doubt one of the very best displays of high quality Japanese Koi seen in the UK for many years, and the Cambridgeshire Koi Club was there to see it in all it's glory. On the Wednesday before the show 3 club members, Iain, Sally and Alan, headed up to Burton to offer any help and assistance they could be it putting up vats, printing signs, erecting Marquees, you name it, it was done, and on the Friday Dave came along offer his support as well. But it wasn't just the construction that saw an input from the CKC, we also had the same 4 people exhibiting their koi, Iain and Sally for the first time at an open show. In what can only be described as very fierce competition, our members came away with the following results. David Pope Our congratulations go not only to our members for the awards won but also to the EMKC for putting on a terrific show, it was enjoyed by all that travelled by coach to visit on the Sunday and you can count on our support again next year. |
