With twin bottom drains, block built filters as well as Bakki showers, loads of air and 2 windows, what's not to like? Jason's pond was started back in 2005 and was built using the typical block and render solution we see in so many koi ponds today. 9" hollow blocks were used for the main construction of the pond, each being filled with concrete as the walls progressed upwards. Featuring 2 windows and a total of 8500 gallons, Jason's pond is filtered using Richdon designed block built filters and have a total settlement area of some 8ft in length with a total biological area of some 7ft in length and incorporating both 20 sheets of Jap matting as well as 300 ltrs of K1 media! Add a 4 teir Bakki shower to this and it's not supprising to discover that Jason's koi are not only very happy fish but also tend to grow very well at the same time.
